The Auxiliary Emergency Fund Program:

The Auxiliary Emergency Fund program provides temporary financial assistance to eligible members during times of financial crisis or weather-related emergencies and natural disasters, and promotes awareness and knowledge of the program.

The AEF was established in 1969 with a bequest from the estate of Auxiliary member Helen Colby Small of Burlington, Wis.  It continues today solely through generous donations from Auxiliary members.

The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Kansas has its own disaster relief fund. The Kansas Disaster Fund is a special program unique to Kansas and is operated and maintained within the confines of the State.  The fund was designed to provide financial support to those members within our state who have suffered catastrophic loss due to acts of nature.  Members may apply for grants via the Kansas Disaster Fund application which can be requested from Kansas Department Headquarters or by downloading the document below.
